Average salary CPA in Public Accounting (42%of entrants) – average CPA salary of $80,767. Those employed in Corporate Finance ( 38%) -average CPA salary of $106,597.
Those employed by financial corporations earned the highest average CPA salary: $106,140.
Accountants who work for employers with around 101-500 employees received average CPA salary of $111,369.
In general, CPAs tend to make more than the regular accountants working in their region. For example, the CPA salary survey found that the average accounting/finance employee in New England makes around $94,455, while the CPAs in the same region have an average salary of $109,540. According to the survey West North Central was the only exception to this rule.
